Ring & DuChateau provided full mechanical and lighting design plus scope electrical and plumbing/fire protection design for the new Hotel Verdant in downtown Racine. The adaptive reuse project restored and expanded the historic Zahn’s department store, built in 1924, to an 80-room boutique hotel that includes a ballroom for events, a ground-floor restaurant, fitness center, meeting spaces and food and bar service on the rooftop.  Systems design included a geothermal system and additional design features to meet key sustainability goals.
